Katie Carr is President & General Manager of Changing Places, a Bay Area concierge relocation and organizing firm specializing in complex residential transitions, estate resolution, and white-glove move management. With nearly three decades of experience leading projects, teams, and client relationships, she is known for bringing clarity, discretion, and a deeply human approach to moments of significant change.

Working closely with homeowners, designers, architects, real estate professionals, and family offices, Katie helps guide highly detailed projects from planning through completion with calm leadership and operational precision. She is passionate about cultivating strong partnerships and helping clients feel supported throughout the transition process.

NICOLEHOLLIS is the San Francisco interior design studio Nicole Hollis founded in 2002 and leads as Creative Director and Principal, in partnership with CEO Lewis Heathcote. The studio is a collective of more than seventy interior designers, interior architects and furniture designers, known for restraint and material richness over decoration. It has been named to the Architectural Digest AD100 five years running and to the Elle Decor A-List repeatedly, and recent work includes Kona Village Resort, Rosewood Sand Hill and Sea Ranch Lodge.

James A. Lord, FASLA, is a founding partner of Surfacedesign, recipient of the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award in 2017. James’ innovative approach to design and stewardship of the firm’s practice has established Surfacedesign as an international leader in urban design and sustainability. James works to imagine what a place can be and how to bring cultural narratives to life, designing landscapes that are poetic gestures that evoke curiosity in the people who engage with them. James is a professor in practice at Harvard Graduate School of Design.
